The U.Okay. economic system stalled in February after public-sector strikes hit exercise within the providers sector.

The nation’s gross home product held regular on month in February, from an upwardly revised 0.4% rise in January, information from the Workplace for Nationwide Statistics confirmed Thursday.

It fell behind expectations of a ballot of economists by The Wall Avenue Journal, which noticed the economic system increasing 0.1%.

Nonetheless, the U.Okay. did register a small 0.1% rise in GDP within the three months to February, with month-to-month GDP now estimated to be 0.3% above prepandemic ranges in February 2020, the ONS mentioned.
